    Hey man,

I was looking at some of the photos you put up of the waterloo area and the surrounding railroad beds and what not, and it inspired me to make an account here. I love the pictures you took of the ice house and having been to waterloo village recently... I'm wondering how in the world you made it across that bridge haha. but anyway I wanted to say keep up the good work with the photos! I'm curious... you said you lead trips every weekend? out of where? and is it just a bunch of people getting together to go out an explore? if so i think that would be awesome to tag along on. I live in Stanhope actually so i'm not sure how far you are from here... but if its not too far i'd definitely be interested in seeing some of those abandoned train cars and things.

    keep up the awesome work.

Glad to see a mention on the Icehouse at the Waterlo Village. Great pictures. Any idea on the year it was built? When my girlfriend and I saw it, we saw some large chunks of coal so i thoght it was a coal storage house.
    Thanks and take care.

Hi there! I believe the industrial ice house complex was in the early years of the 1900s though the exact year I'm uncertain about! Glad you like the pics. Keep an eye on my forum and there's sure to be lots more!

i have a question and it seems that you have explored the area enough that you may have the answer. friends and i have hiked dwgra quite often in the last few seasons. we only hit coppermine trail twice. once in the fall of 07 and then today. we saw quite a few strangely, perfectly stacked rocks and i saw that you had a couple pics posted. wtf? what are they and how did they get there? it was rather strange and were in the middle of the creek on larger rocks. kinda creepy, weird, and cool all at the same time. can you shed any light? i've been looking for answers and have come up with not much so far thanks, melanie

Hey...not exactly sure which stacked rocks you mean...I know of the ones at Sunfish Pond which are just done by thru hikers who pass by. Ones in the creek are probably done the same way. Stone piles are known as "Cairns" used to mark a trail, but not widely used any more like they used to be. The ones you saw in the creek may be to show the way to the "original mine hole" which is located just on it's bank up the creek, after the old dam but before the trail bridge. It's very lesser known. If you can describe exact location, I might be able to help you more...hope I've helped so far!

Hey...I put most of my P Burg stuff in a posting "Ghost Island in the Delaware and other P Burg/Easton Area stuff" or something of that sort. If you search Phillipsburg you'll see all the forums that contain it!
